I maintain a private psychotherapy practice in New Haven, CT, and am a Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University.  I recently took up songwriting, and created the indie-music collective In These Trees in 2019. I have been writing songs with Australian singer/songwriter Tartie, as In These Trees and Tartie, and our new album "The Quiver" is due out in early March 2024! 

Some of the music on the album was inspired by my work on  six-episode audio memoir, "Ten Days in Newark" that I released in 2018-- A story of first love, first heartbreak & the radical politics of the 1960's. You can stream it here - Tendaysinnewark.com
 
My memoir, “Blows to the Head: How Boxing Changed My Mind” (SUNY Press) came out in 2010. The paperback edition marked the tenth anniversary of the publication and came out in the Summer 2020!

 

I've been involved with non-commercial radio ever since I got the shivers when putting 2 songs together with recorded poetry, and started a  show at WPKN-FM (and wpkn.org), It's on the first and third Thursdays, 10 am until Noon. It's called "A Miniature World."

 

I have two sweet Havanese dogs, Halia and Sebby (both rescues).
